Entertainment icon Sir Bruce Forsyth will make his first ever festival appearance in Kent.

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter will perform with his big band at the Hop Farm Music Festival.

Known for catchphrases "nice to see you to see you nice" and "give us a twirl," the 84-year-old entertainer been in showbusiness for more than 70 years.

Awarded a knighthood in the Queen's 2011 birthday honours, his most notable TV shows include The Generation Game, The Price Is Right and Play Your Cards Right.

Festival organiser Vince Power said: "I am honoured to have the legend that is Sir Bruce come down and make his debut appearance at the Hop Farm this year.

"Not only has he never appeared at a festival, he's never been to a festival. He has been in this business for over 70 years and is a true, true legend, he will be the talking point of the festival."

Sir Bruce joins a line up which already includes Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel and the New Blood Orchestra and Suede.

The festival runs from Friday, June 29 to Sunday, July 1.
