Emergency landing pilot escapes injury

A LIGHT aircraft had to make an emergency landing at Lenham, near Maidstone, today.

The plane landed in the middle of a field off Payden Street at around midday after the pilot experienced some difficulties and had to bring the craft down earlier than planned.

Police officers from Maidstone were called to the scene.

The plane was not damaged and the pilot, who was flying alone, was uninjured.
