Eight arrests after holiday park rumpus

EIGHT people have been arrested by police after an incident at a caravan park in the county.

Two officers were called to the holiday park in Warden Bay, Sheppey, late on Monday evening and arrested a man on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent.

It is then claimed a large group of people started to threaten the patrol.

More officers were called to the scene and seven males were arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.

Ch Insp Mark Chambers said: "I will not tolerate anyone behaving in an aggressive or threatening manner towards my officers.

"Those who choose to behave so appallingly will be arrested."

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact Sittingbourne police station on 0808 1003308 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
