THE drivers of two vehicles that collided today on the A2 near Gravesend walked away scratch free. One of the drivers was particularly lucky.

The collision happened at about 11.15am close to the Cobham junction of the London bound A2. A silver Peugeot 206 overturned and landed on its roof on a grass verge by the side of the road while the other car involved finished up in the fast lane.

The road was only closed for a few minutes. A backlog of traffic had cleared by 11.30am.

A North Kent police spokesman said: "It looked a lot worse than what it actually was. It seems the drivers had a miraculous escape."
