Driver hurt as truck overturns

THE driver of a cement lorry was injured today when his vehicle overturned and crashed on to its side.

The incident happened while the driver was negotiating a roundabout at the Lower Rainham Road/Gillingham Northern Link at at about 6am.

He was taken to the Medway Maritime Hospital at Gillingham after complaining of back pain. He also suffered a cut on his face.

Firefighters from Medway attended with one engine to make the scene safe.
