Dover Athletic’s unbeaten run will be put to the test when they travel to Salisbury in a crucial Blue Square Bet South top-of-the-table clash on Saturday.

Whites made it seven games unbeaten under new boss Chris Kinnear with Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Havant & Waterlooville, while the Wiltshire outfit have suffered a blip recently, with last Saturday’s 3-0 success at Weston-super-Mare their first win in five matches.

Whites go into the game eight points behind their second-placed opponents with two matches in hand.

And Kinnear (pictured) admitted that defeat on Saturday "would make it a lot more difficult and a draw would be a good result but we are going there to win."

Whites’ fans will remember Salisbury’s impressive 3-1 victory at Crabble in October and City led the Blue Square Bet South table for a long period before recently being overhauled by Welling.

Kinnear said: "They had a good win on Saturday and are a strong side but we want to keep our unbeaten run going."

The Whites boss looks set to keep faith with his side for the game despite the loss of a 2-0 half-time lead against Havant , though fit-again midfielder Daryl McMahon could feature.

Kinnear said: "McMahon looked all right when he came on (against Havant) and he will be in contention against Salisbury."
