This daredevil is certainly not short of nerves.

Known only as Dangerous Dan, the Strood thrill-seeker threw himself off the Channel Tunnel Rail Link bridge in Rochester on Wednesday.

The 110ft jump lasted a few seconds and thanks to his parachute the fearless jumper was unharmed. But, if caught, he risks prosecution.

He said: "All I can say is wow, it was amazing. it's better than most things you can think of.

"I've jumped from the M2 side of the bridge before but this is the first time anyone has jumped from the rail-link side. This was the cream of the crop."

The dive comes two months after he was involved in a similar jump from the M2 bridge and made the front page of the Bristol Evening Post when he dived from the 245ft Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Base jumping involves using a parachute to leap from buildings, bridges or natural features. Although not strictly illegal, jumpers can be prosecuted for a number of offences such as public disorder or trespassing.
