Crash teenager still fighting for life

THE family of a teenager who remains in a critical condition following a serious road accident are praying his 'strong character' will pull him through.

Daniel Ottoway, 19, from Larkfield, was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital with a broken pelvis, two broken legs, a broken arm and injuries to his abdomen, following two-car crash on the A228 at Snodland at around 8am on Friday.

Police say his injuries remain life-threatening.

A source close to the family said: "They almost lost him on Friday night, but he's young, he's very fit and he's got a strong character."

Firefighters used cutting equipment to free him and two other casualties trapped in their vehicle after the impact.

The two others were taken to Maidstone Hospital, one with a fractured sternum and the other with minor injuries.

The incident is now being looked at by police crash investigators, who are appealing for witnesses.

Officers have asked for anyone who saw the collision or the events leading up to it to call them on 01622 798538.
