Gillingham loan signing Chris Dickson is keeping his long term options open after signing a three-month loan deal this week.

The striker is out of contract at Charlton Athletic in the summer and Gillingham boss Mark Stimson would be keen to make the stay permanent.

Dickson (pictured) though is keen to concentrate on his immediate future.

"I want to do my best in the next three months and whatever happens happens," he said.

"I could end up back at Charlton in the play-offs yet, so I’ll just take it game by game.

"At the end of the day I’ve got to put food on the table and if after three months I haven’t been scoring goals then I’m going to be struggling. I want to the best for myself for the benefit of Gillingham."

Dickson is looking forward to pulling on a Gillingham shirt again and making a name for himself.

He said: "I love to win games and win them with class and style but I know that sometimes you have to grind out results.

"Mark Stimson always said 'go and entertain me' and that's what I try and do."

Fans will be expecting plenty from Dickson for those three months but he 25-year-old isn't concerned by the pressure.

"I thrive on the pressure and I prefer it," he said.

"If things aren’t going right then I’ve only got myself to blame and I then have to fix it. If things are going well I’ll enjoy it more. People are expecting a lot but I don’t pay much attention to that."
