Cargo aircraft set for quake zone mercy mission

A MERCY flight is leaving Kent International Airport at Manston this afternoon bound for the earthquake disaster zone in Pakistan.

The DC8 cargo aircraft will head for Islamabad with 40 tonnes of relief aid including children’s clothes, buckets, blankets and tents.

The flight is being arranged by Oxfam. Loading is expected to start around 2.30pm and the plane is expected to leave at about 5pm.
