TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire at a bar.

A 23-year-old from Forest Hill and a 24-year-old from Lewisham have been arrested in connection with the incident at the Box Bar in the High Street, Beckenham.

The fire broke out at about 4.30am on Friday, April 6. Firefighters had to evacuate the occupants of the flat above the bar.

No injuries were reported and the bar sustained minor smoke damage.

Both males have been bailed to return to Bromley Police Station on Thursday, May 17, pending further enquiries.
