Appeal after suspected assault

POLICE have appealed for the victim of an alleged assault to come forward.

The appeal follows reports of an alleged fight between two men at the A20 junction with Roundwell, Bearsted, at about 9.30pm on Friday.

A witness claims to have seen two cars parked at the junction but when police officers arrived, they found one car and one man, who they arrested for drink-driving.

The car and surrounding area were searched, and blood was found, leading the police to question the man about an assault they believed had taken place.

He was later released on bail, pending further enquiries.

Call PC Paula Howe, of Maidstone and Malling Police, on 01622 608182, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
