KENT Police are today still questioning two men in connection with the shooting of a 38-year-old businessman outside his home in Wilson Avenue at Rochester.

The victim, who has not been named, was shot in the leg on Tuesday night when he was approached by a gunman in a car park adjoining flats where he lives.

Kent Police have arrested a 20-year-old man from Chatham over the shooting and are questioning a 48-year-old man, also from Chatham, about firearms offences.

The victim, who runs his own business, underwent surgery at the Medway Maritime Hospital at Gillingham. His condition is said to be stable.

Detectives do not think it was a random attack. The incident occurred as the victim was returning home.

After being shot he was able to reach his flat and call the emergency services. The gunman fled towards Maidstone Road and police said a red metallic car was also seen being driven away quickly in the same direction.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to telephone police on 01622 690690.
