Set fair for Fairmeadow

PROGRESS remains steady on Maidstone's Fremlin Walk shopping centre development.

The project's lead company Centros Miller said it had either rented out or had firm commitments to rent out almost three-quarters of the centre's retail units.

The developer said it was also holding "positive" discussions with three potential funders who were bidding to finance the multi-million pound scheme.

It has short-listed four but a final appointment has yet to be made. The company said it still anticipated starting work on the site at Fairmeadow in the spring and hoped to have the development completed in two years.
