Invicta FM may be sold for £375m

Commercial radio company Global Radio is poised to take over Kent-based commercial station Invicta FM.

The Financial Times reported that GCap Media, the owner of stations including Invicta, Capital and Classic FM, may be sold to Global for £375million.

Global is offering 225p a share. Before the offer, GCap shares were trading at 121p.

Steve Fountain, group programme controller at rival Kent commercial station KMFM, said: "Global have been looking to purchase a radio group for some time. This will make Global the biggest radio operator in the UK by quite a margin."
