Ebbsfleet are hoping to pull in another big crowd when they put their excellent home record on the line against promotion rivals Basingstoke this weekend.

The club are running their ‘Fleet for a Fiver’ promotion on Saturday, meaning adults will get into Stonebridge Road for £5 instead of the regular £10.

Last weekend’s FA Trophy tie against Bromley drew 956 supporters to Stonebridge Road – the second-highest crowd of the third qualifying round.

Steve Brown’s side have now won six of their last seven home games and the Fleet manager has urged locals to keep up their support.

He said: “Things are tight for people and football is a luxury, so we’re trying to make it entertaining for people to come and watch. Hopefully, the crowds will keep increasing if we’re pushing towards the right end of the league.

“The FA Cup game against Dartford gives you a taster of what Stonebridge Road could be like if we were attracting big crowds every week. The atmosphere that day was cracking.”

Ebbsfleet can break into the Skrill South play-offs with victory against a Basingstoke side sitting fourth after five straight wins.

Brown said: “It’s a big one. Basingstoke are on a fantastic run and it’s going to be a tough game. They’ll come here full of confidence but this is a tough place to get a result.”
