Young woman escapes serious injuries after car hits tree in Scratchers Lane, Fawkham

A young woman escaped serious injury after her car veered off the road and hit a tree in Fawkham.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to Scratchers Lane at 1am today after the car crashed and ended up on its side.

The woman, believed to be in her 20s, became trapped in the wreckage, forcing firefighters to cut the windscreen to rescue her.

She was then checked over by paramedics. A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said she escaped unhurt.
