Crash between a car and a lorry led to delays on Station Road, in Southfleet

A crash between a lorry and a car has closed a road in both directions for almost two hours.

The crash happened at about 10.15am on Station Road, Southfleet, and police and ambulance crews and firefighters were called to the scene.

The road, the B262 was closed either side of the Millbrook Garden Centre after the two vehicles collided.

Traffic in the area had built up and was queuing from the A2 Watling Street, to Foxhounds Lane.

However, the road has ow been fully reopened.

Police spokesman James Walker said: "Kent Police was called to a collision between a car and a lorry in Station Road, Southfleet, at 10.16am.

No serious injuries were reported however the road was blocked following the incident.

Officers attended the scene to manage traffic and by 12.06pm the vehicle causing the obstruction had been removed.

"They had left the scene by around 1.20pm.

"Kent Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance to tend to an oil spill."
