Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish says no talks have taken place so far about extending his contract at Stonebridge Road.

Daish’s present deal runs out at the end of the season and reports had suggested that preliminary negotiations were under way.

But, speaking ahead of Tuesday’s Blue Square Bet South draw with Eastleigh, Daish insisted: "No conversations have taken place yet about my contract."

Daish, who has again been linked with the vacant job at old club Cambridge United, wants to reward several of his successful squad with extended deals at Stonebridge Road.

He said: "I don’t want to name names but the people who watch us every week will know who I mean. I want to build a nucleus of a squad and hope to start doing that soon."

Fleet travel to Havant & Waterlooville, aiming for their eighth away win of the season on Saturday.

The form on the road of the teams in contention at the top of Blue Square Bet South is much superior than at home.

Daish said: "I think that is down to the pressure on winning. Teams seem to come to us and sit deep and are not too adventurous. We have to cut out the mistakes and stop conceding goals.

"Havant will be another tough game but we are all right away from home and look a good side."
