Gravesend grandfather Peers Carter writes #TakeTheKit film for The Anaphylaxis Campaign

A hard-hitting film in which a teenage girl suffers a deadly allergic reaction in a park has been written by a grandfather to boost awareness of the risks.

Peers Carter, of Southfleet, is listed as a creative director on the #TakeTheKit film - created by The Anaphylaxis Campaign.

Anaphylaxis is an extreme and rapidly developing allergic reaction which can be life-threatening if untreated.

The film aims to raise alert young suffers to always carry their adrenaline injectors, also known as kit, to provide emergency treatment in case of a reaction.

A recent youth survey revealed 44% of young people aged between 15 and 25 do not always carry their kit. The figure is thought to be low because of the social stigma in carrying the injectors.

The film shows the girl being teased after a friend spots the treatment in her handbag before it is later stuffed into a draw.

Mr Carter said he became involved with the campaign two years ago while researching information about Ruby's food allergies after she was diagnosed as anaphylactic.
