Former Ebbsfleet chairman Brian Kilcullen is prepared to try to oust MyFC from the ownership of the club in a bid to secure its future.

Mr Kilcullen, pictured, has written to the club’s minority shareholders saying he believes the ownership model is not working.

He claims the administration have breached the terms of the takeover agreement which gave them control and says he and the former directors could re-seize power – but only if someone is prepared to run the club.

Mr Kilcullen claimed: "There is a breach of the takeover agreement that allows the principal old shareholders to take control of the board of directors and management of the club unless and until MyFC remedies the breach.

"Unless MyFC quickly remedy all the breaches and sort out the other issues, then the principal old shareholders may reluctantly have to take up this right in the best interests of the long-term future of the club."

He added: "I and the old directors have no desire to fund and run the club again, having done it for eight years, but if there are people out there with the right combination of money, business acumen, skills, time and energy to do so, then we would be happy to use our potential management powers to enable it and to help them in their plans."

Mr Kilcullen said the club’s parlous financial situation – which prompted the club to ask supporters to help raise £25,000 last month – is his main concern.

He said: "I voted against the budget that was proposed this year for fear that money would run out within months of the season starting. This has proven to be the case."
