Firefighters attend rubbish blaze in Burch Road, Northfleet

Firefighters were called to a rubbish fire in a derelict building in Burch Road, Northfleet, earlier today.

Crews in three fire engines attended the scene after a large quantity of rubbish had been set alight.

It is not believed that anyone suffered injuries during the incident. The cause of the blaze is being investigated.

Crews used ventilation fans and hoses to bring the fire under control.

Hours later crews were called to a fourth floor flat in Wallis Park, Northfleet, after a blaze broke out in a kitchen.

No injuries were reported but the home was occupied at the time. A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said the cause was also under investigation.
