Crash on A2 near Gravesend causes delays

There were severe delays on the A2 this morning after a crash involving a car and a lorry.

The accident happened on the London-bound carriageway just after the exit for Pepperhill at 6.30am.

The road was partially shut just before the junction for Ebbsfleet and Northfleet, causing lengthy queues.

The delays had cleared by 10am.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 6.30am on 11 March, following a collision on the London-bound carriageway of A2.

"The incident occurred close to the junction for Gravesend and involved a car and a lorry.

"No injuries have been reported. The road remains open and Highways officers are on the scene."
