A driver who crashed into a pub garden's flowerbed has been arrested after failing a roadside drink-drive limit and drugs test.

Officers were called that the blue BMW 1-Series had been seen crashing into the vehicles in a nearby road without stopping.

But it did not take patrols long to find the car after it was found crashed outside the pub on The Hill.

After the man was arrested, police checks found the vehicle was uninsured and the driver was also arrested on suspicion of driving without insurance.

He was taken into custody on suspicion of four offences – failing to stop following a road traffic collision, driving whilst being unfit through drink and drugs and driving without insurance.

Police have been contacted for more information.
