Crews called to car alight

CREWS from Thames-side were called to a suspicious car fire in Northfleet.

Blue watch took one pump to the scene in Lawrence Square where a Rover Metro was alight.

The crew was called at 6.38am on Sunday and spent 30 minutes extinguishing the flames.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said the fire was 'probably a malicious ignition'.

There was no damage to any surrounding buildings and no injuries.
