A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested under the Terrorism Act after being picked up by police on a railway line between Folkestone and Dover (Jo Robertson writes).

The man, who has not been named, was spotted today on the stretch between the Abbot's Cliff tunnel and Shakespeare tunnel at about 10.50am and has been in custody since. He is now being questioned by officers.

The line has been closed between the two tunnels which runs parallel to the area known as Samphire Hoe until further notice while police carry out a full security check.

The closure has been affecting domestic trains between the two towns.
