Pensioner suffers 'vicious' brick attack in own home

A 67-year-old man was hit over the head with a brick and robbed at his Kent home in the middle of the afternoon.

The victim answered a knock at the door of his flat in Dover Road, Folkestone, at around 3.20pm on Thursday.

He was confronted by an unknown man who demanded his money. When he refused, the victim was attacked and pushed back into the flat.

The robber stole money and other possessions before fleeing the scene.

DC Richard Lown said: "This is a vicious attack on an elderly man in his own home, and the offender has stolen a quantity of cash, a mobile phone and a small amount of tobacco."
