Police are appealing for witnesses after burglars trashed a gift shop.

Officers say that a “substantial amount of damage’’ was caused to the Sunny Sands shop at The Stade in Folkestone.

The thieves stole a coffee machine and a large quantity of food and drink.

The raid happened on Good Friday, April 3, between 5pm and 9pm.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Officers are now appealing for anyone with information, or who was in the area at the time, to make contact.’’
