STEVE CATTERMOLE: delighted with the feedback

THE Hoverspeed Trophy currently involving Dover FC and Calais, could be expanded to a four-team tournament next season.

Following the success of Saturday's second leg in Calais, which the French side won 1-0 to take the trophy 3-2 on aggregate, Trevor Bond, Hoverspeed's Head of Marketing and Sales, is looking at bringing in two other teams next season, including KV Oostende who play in the top Belgian division.

Mr Bond said: "There is potentially 12 months to sort something out. The big problem is finding dates when everyone is free. Calais FC are really enthusiastic and have a few ideas, and the people of Dover supported the event really well."

Dover Athletic finance director Steve Cattermole was delighted with the whole day on Saturday and said: "The feedback from the 170 fans who travelled was glowing and the organisation of the day outshone the result on the pitch."
