A 49-year-old Kent man appeared before a court this morning accused of murdering his wife at their home at the weekend.

Michael Herd, of Harold Street, Dover, was remanded in custody by magistrates at Folkestone charged with killing 64-year-old Ann Herd.

He is now due to appear before a judge at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, June 19. Mrs Herd's body was found at the couple's home on Saturday.
