Daisy 'fit as a fiddle' approaching 105

DOVER'S oldest resident Daisy Johnson celebrates her 105th birthday on Friday.

Mrs Johnson is looking forward to adding to her collection of telegrams from the Queen and eagerly anticipating her birthday party on Saturday.

Her age is likely to be outnumbered by friends, family and wellwishers at the event including Dover's mayor Cllr George Allt.

The celebration will take place at Mrs Johnson's home, The Gateway, in Folkestone Road.

Manager Pat Thompson said: "Daisy is still fit as a fiddle and going strong."

The oldest living woman currently recorded in the Guinness Book of Records is Charlotte Benken in America, born on November 16 1889.
