A teenager living with cerebral palsy is fundraising for a charity that helped her family at the time they most needed it.
Clara Butcher held a quiz in aid of the Ronald McDonald charity raising £1,530.
The 17-year-old from Preston said: "As a baby I was diagnosed with four limb cerebral palsy with dystonia.
"In October 2016, after enduring breathing problems for a while I got rushed to hospital with a collapsed lung and infection on the other lung.
" It was later discovered that there were greater life threatening complications that resulted in my year in intensive care and some unique operations involving several consultants and London hospitals.
"During this time my family were fortunate enough to be able to stay nearby in Ronald McDonald house, a charity funded organisation that enables families to stay near to their children whilst in hospital.
"I have overcome many obstacles in my life and have decided that I would like to be a charity fundraiser and events coordinator.
"My main charity is Ronald McDonald house, so like me, other families can benefit from this amazing charity."
The quiz was held at the Half Moon and Seven Stars pub in Preston.
Clara dubbed it "a tremendous success" notably because the landlord and landlady Dave and Sheila Cullen put 100% of the money made from the quiz and accompanying curry and raffle to the charity working tirelessly to raise as much money as possible.
Clara said: "I was overwhelmed by their kindness and by the donations to the raffle and generosity of everyone who attended the event.
A statement from the publicans said: "Knowing how close this place is to the hearts of Clara and her family and the incredible service it provides for families of children within the Evalina Hospital in London we had no hesitation in pulling out all the stops and assisting in a full blown chat n chew curry n quiz evening donating all the monies towards Clara's chosen charity fund.
"All guests paid £7 p/h and along with a names on a note on the night raising a further £80 for the pot we eventually sold tickets for the dozens of prizes so kindly donated by customers and businesses for this great cause."
