Dover were forced to dig deep against Thanet

Martyn Beaumont scored a late try to give Dover a battling 20-13 win at Thanet Wanderers in London 2 South on Saturday.

Thanet opened the scoring from a penalty but Dover responded through Jon Foster's try, converted by Beaumont.

The visitors moved further ahead through a Beaumont penalty but when Ricky Stanley was sin binned in the final few minutes of the half Thanet kicked the penalty to reduce the deficit.

The hosts moved with a converted try but Dover refused to give up and Beaumont's 77th- minute touchdown was followed by a conversion and penalty to seal the points.

Deal & Betteshanger, meanwhile, cemented their place in mid-table after a 31-15 win at London 3 South East strugglers Lordswood.

Anthony Hart, John De-Roebeck and Martin Robinson were the try scorers.
