£260k drugs haul seized at port

Illegal drugs worth an estimated £260,000 have been discovered during a vehicle search at a Kent port.

Staff from the UK Border Agency found 12kilos of ecstasy and half a kilo of cocaine hidden inside a Lithuanian-registered car at Dover's Eastern Docks. The driver had travelled into England on a ferry from Calais.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with attempting to smuggle drugs into the country.
