Dover Athletic midfielder Tom Davis has left the club by mutual consent.

Davis, who will be 26 next month, joined from AFC Wimbledon last summer but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by and had been on loan at Croydon Athletic during the festive period.

Whites boss Andy Hessenthaler, pictured, said: "We had a chat and decided it was the best thing to do. It has not worked out for him here, as it sometimes doesn't, but he goes with our best wishes.

"He needs to play football and he's perhaps not played as much as he'd like here. But he is a good footballer with a good pedigree and whoever signs him will be getting a good player."
