Wings keen to get back to winning ways

Andy Ford wants his Welling team to stop giving away silly free-kicks
Andy Ford wants his Welling team to stop giving away silly free-kicks

Welling v Dorchester

Welling boss Andy Ford is keen for his side to pick up maximum points on home soil in Blue Square South on Saturday.

The Wings bagged just one point out of six in two away matches, losing their unbeaten start to the season in the process.

Ford is keen for them to rediscover the form that brushed aside Fisher in their last home game but has urged his side to cut down on the number of free-kicks they gave away.

"If you go back a couple of games, we played well against Fisher and we need to get back to that," said Ford.

"An area we do need to improve on is the number of free-kicks we give away.

"The referees are fussy now and I think it has become an art in trying to win the ball.

"You need to do it a certain way and if we can cut down on the offsides as well then we'll be heading in the right direction."

Ford also hinted that he may look to bring in more experience to his squad.

"We've not come through the last two games with flying colours but that's where we are lacking experience," he added.

"It's an area I'm looking at very closely as I've always known that we need some experience in there."

Striker Sol Pinnock will be hoping to start ahead of Joe Healy, who is still looking for his first Wings goal.

Scott Andrews is set to continue in goal at the expense of Jamie Turner while Graeme Andrews is likely to have to settle for a place on the bench as Ford keeps faith with the same back four.
