Woman dies after crash on A20 London Road, Farningham, between Swanley Interchange and the A225 roundabout

A driver has died after suffering serious injuries in a crash on a busy main route.

The woman, who was in her 60s, was taken to hospital following the collision on the A20 London Road in Farningham, near Dartford, on Wednesday, January 19.

But today, detectives revealed that one of the motorists, from the West Kingsdown area, died on Friday.

The incident - which took place at about 5.45pm - saw the woman's blue Ford B-Max collide with a green Ford Transit.

A police spokesman said: "Both drivers were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which were described as serious.

"But the driver of the Ford B-Max, a woman in her 60s from the West Kingsdown area, died on January 28."

The Ford was heading downhill, while the van was travelling the other way.

The driver of the van has been discharged from hospital and is continuing to recover from their injuries.

Officers have renewed their appeal for information in the wake of the woman's death, and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

"We are continuing to investigate the circumstances and remain keen to hear from any witnesses who are yet to speak with us," the spokesman added.

"The officers would particularly like to speak with anyone who has captured the collision, or either of the vehicles travelling in the moments leading up to the collision, on a dashcam or privately held CCTV."
