Two men have been charged following a string of station stop and searches linked to suspected drug offences.
A joint operation was led by neighbouring police forces at Dartford Railway Station last Friday night and also involved police dogs Max and Piper.
Officers from the Met Police's south east command unit in Bexley were joined by British Transport Police’s Metro team and Kent Police's Dartford neighbourhood and tactical teams for the patrol.
In total, three men were arrested and two charged as part of joint efforts to stamp out criminal activity on the public transport network.
Randy Carr, 45, of Middleway, Sittingbourne , was charged on August 14 with possession of cocaine and cannabis. He was bailed to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on September 25.
Another man, Timothy Coyne, 35, of John Wilson Street, Woolwich, was charged the same day with the possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of cannabis. He was bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on September 22.
A third man, aged 25, from London was also arrested on suspicion of theft. He has been released pending further enquiries.
During the operation, a knife as well as cocaine and cannabis were seized.
A purse reported stolen was also recovered from a man who is believed to have used the bank cards inside to buy clothing.
Another three people received warnings for cannabis use, police confirmed.
In total the operation has conducted over 20 stop and searches resulting in further reports to court for possession of drugs.
Bexley Police said: "We will continue to target those who intend to use the public transport network around South East London and North Kent to commit criminal activity and keep the public safe."
Community Safety Unit Inspector Sarah Rivett said: "Joint working with our partners such as this help us to gather intelligence and reinforces our commitment to protecting the public from criminal activity.
"This was a successful operation which not only saw some arrests being made but also provided a lot of intelligence to officers helping to further police investigations."
