A member of staff challenged a man and woman leaving the shop at around 11.40am after they reportedly stole vitamins and medicinal items from inside.

It is alleged the woman punched and scratched the female employee and that she was also threatened by the man. Both suspects then fled empty handed.

Yesterday, officers attended a property in Moultain Hill, Swanley, the home address of Joe Rossiter-Lee and Gemma Lee.

The pair, both 40, were charged with counts of theft and assault.

They were remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
