Tricksters steal from woman aged 100

A WARNING to the elderly to beware of bogus callers has been made after they struck three times in as many days at the homes of pensioners in Dartford.

In the first incident three men claiming to be from the water board called at the home of a 100-year-old woman at around 1pm on Thursday, November 20.

They pushed their way into the woman's house on Park Road and searched through several rooms including the kitchen before leaving.

The woman later discovered her purse containing £500 in cash had been stolen from her lounge.

North Kent Police spokesman Martin Pearce said: "We would always urge people to check for identification before they let anyone into their home."

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Kent Police on 01322 283154 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
