Tributes paid for Pioneer FM Ebbsfleet lorry park worker Karla Zelaya Godoy who was murdered in Peru

Emotional tributes have poured in for a Kent mum found murdered in Peru.

Karla Zelaya Godoy, who worked for at Pioneer FM at Ebbsfleet lorry park, was discovered wrapped in blue plastic sheeting and buried in a shallow grave in Lima.

The 37-year-old mum worked at the company for almost two years and was said to bring "sunshine into everyone’s life".

A spokesman for Pioneer FM said: "We are deeply saddened by the events that have taken place.

"We've been speaking with Karla's family daily and it's just heartbreaking that they have to go through this.

"We've spoken to her family on the phone and heard the pain in their voice.

"Karla's mother, Sonya, she was the first person we spoke to as she was down as Karla's next-of-kin.

"She doesn't speak English, and we couldn't understand what she was saying without the translator speaking with her, but we could hear that pain and anguish in her voice."

Karla would have been celebrating her 38th birthday in November.

The spokesman continued: "With Christmas fast approaching, her little girl will be without her mother.

"Money cannot bring Karla back but it can alleviate financial pressure for the family at this horrendous time and that is why we have set up a JustGiving page.

“On behalf of your colleagues here at Pioneer FM and everyone at Ebbsfleet lorry park, you were loved and will be missed.”

On the page the company stated: "Karla brought sunshine into everyone’s life she knew with her carefree spirit and her loving nature, her heart was so full of love for her daughter and family.

"Karla will be sadly missed and her friends and work family are beside themselves with grief.

"Our love and prayers are with Karla’s family at this very sad time."

"My dear friend, my sister, my baby, where are you..."

Karla's colleagues have also been deeply saddened by her death.

Javier Sánchez, said: "Karla, I will always remember you as that happy, hard-working and excellent colleague.

"You are a very difficult person to forget, that is why you will always be present in my mind and heart.

"God have you in his holy glory, rest in peace."

Another colleague said: "I miss Karla very much, she called me señorita every time she saw me.

"Her little girl will be without her mother..."

"She was a lovely lady, very friendly, always making me smile.

"She will never be forgotten in my thoughts. May she rest in peace and the angels look after her."

Someone else said: "My dear friend, my sister, my baby, where are you, without saying goodbye, I will forever miss you, farewell.

"Farewell until we meet again"

Karla's boyfriend, Jorge Garay, 46, of Hythe Street, Dartford, was charged with murder after he was arrested in London on Saturday.

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Monday and spoke via an interpreter to confirm his name, age and address.

He did not enter a plea.

He is alleged to have killed Karla between Wednesday, September 21, and Sunday, October 2.

Garay has been remanded in custody and will appear next at Canterbury Crown Court on Wednesday.

Her body was found wrapped in blue plastic sheeting and buried in a shallow grave in the South American capital.

The pair are are reported to have lived together in Dartford and worked at Ebbsfleet lorry park.

Officers are continuing to work closely with the Peruvian authorities as part of the ongoing investigation.
