Traffic is moving again at the Dartford Crossing after a pile-up in one of the tunnels.

Queues stretched back to junction 3 of the M25 following the smash at about 10.15am, which involed four HGVs.

The west tunnel was closed following the collision, forcing motorists to squeeze into the east tunnel while Highways Agency staff tried to recover the damaged lorries.

Checks were then made to see if the crash had damaged the tunnel, but agency staff gave it the all-clear and re-opened it at about 1pm.
