Teen injured in collision with a bus

Police are investigating a road traffic collision in Dartford on Friday in which a teenager was seriously injured.

Officers were called to the scene in Darenth Road, close to the junction with East Hill, at around 3.20pm.

The collision involved a pedestrian and a Fastrack bus, which was travelling towards the Princes Road junction on the dedicated bus lane.

The casualty, a 17-year-old man from Greenwich, suffered serious but not life threatening leg injuries and was taken to Darent Valley Hospital where he is receiving treatment.

The bus lane was blocked for two hours to allow emergency services staff to deal with it.

Police are investigating the cause of the collision and would urge anyone with information to get in touch. If you can help, call PC Joe Panton at North Kent Police Station on 01474 369055.

No arrests have been made.
