Hartley mum says fox experience is like living in a Disney movie

An animal lover says she is living “in a Disney movie” after a family of foxes moved into her garden.

Sue Ellis, who lives in Hartley, near Dartford, has eight cubs residing under her decking and playing outside her house daily.

The mum-of-two said: “I came home one day last summer and saw a beautiful fox sunbathing, but little did I know she had chosen here as home for her babies.

“In April four little cubs appeared, and then a week later there were four more – they were just tiny.

“I’ve only seen one mum and realised she is probably rearing another litter as well as her own after their mum died or something.

“My dog died in Febuary so I think that’s why they decided to stay as the scent was gone.”

The family of foxes get in and out from beneath the decking through a hole.

“As the garden is safe and secure they obviously feel comfortable playing at any time of the day or night,” the 64-year-old explained.

“They’re all absolutely adorable, I haven’t been feeding them or encouraging them or anything, I’ve only left water out.

“The cubs have been growing really quickly so they’ll probably disappear soon.

“I’m actually going to miss them when they’re gone, it’s not often that I poke my head out and they’re not there.

“I have over 40 videos and photos of them as they´ve been growing, this really is nature at it’s best.”
