Two second half goals proved enough to help Dartford through to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Suffolk side Lowestoft Town.

Carl Rook (pictured) and Danny Harris put the Darts 2-0 ahead by the hour mark, but the visitors finished the stronger side as Tony Burman's men held on to reach the next round.

A patchy first half saw little separating the two sides, but Rook found the net just after the break to put Dartford ahead on 48 minutes. The striker headed in Danny Harris' flick-on after a threatening corner from Michael Shinn.

Harris then doubled the advantage on 60 minutes, turning well and shooting home thanks to a trademark Elliot Bradbrook long throw-in. Goalkeeper Andy Young was kept on his toes shortly after, tipping a Lowestoft effort onto his post and then a fierce shot around it as the visitors began to mount a fightback.

The travelling support from Suffolk was given hope soon after when they scrambled in a goal with 15 minutes to go. But, the Darts held on in front of a crowd of just more than 1,000 at Princes Park.
