Charlton's stuttering form continued as they let a lead slip to fall to a 4-2 League 1 defeat to Swindon at The Valley on Monday evening.

Johnnie Jackson put the hosts ahead with his fourth goal in three games, a deflected drive on 22 minutes with the visitors appealing for a handball by Paul Benson in the build-up. However, Matt Ritchie converted at the second attempt to equalise shortly before the break after Charlton keeper Rob Elliot had superbly saved his initial strike.

Charlie Austin pounced on a mistake by Christian Dailly to make it 2-1 on 56 minutes and Sean Morrison headed Swindon further ahead 13 minutes from time before Austin slid in the fourth four minutes later.

There was still time for Pawel Abbott to swivel and curl the ball into the top corner from just inside the box, but Swindon took the points which saw Charlton slip to fifth, three points off the automatic promotion places.

The Addicks are now winless in five matches in the league, stretching back to November 20.
