Charlton made it six wins on the bounce in League 1 with a 2-0 victory over previously unbeaten Brentford at The Valley on Saturday.

Two first half goals from Deon Burton and Lloyd Sam settled the London derby and kept Phil Parkinson's side top of the table.

Burton got the Addicks on their way by hitting the first with 11 minutes on the clock following a cut-back from Sam.

The pair exchanged roles after half an hour when a fine move culminated in Burton finding Sam who ran into the box and netted the second.

At the other end David Hunt's free-kick hit the bar and Addicks keeper Rob Elliott did well to save a diving header from Carl Cort.
