A FIRE at a newly refurbished building in Dartford is being treated as a suspected arson attack

Six crews were called to West Hill House in West Hill, Dartford, just after midnight on Tuesday.

Part of the first floor of the building, formerly the YMCA, was almost destroyed in the blaze and the rest of the building was damaged by smoke.

Firefighters from Dartford, Swanley, Swanscombe, Thameside and Bexley were drafted in and finally left the scene just after 4am.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "The cause of the fire is under investigation and being treated as suspicious."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Dartford.
