Canterbury Ladies v Doncaster Ladies

TWO consecutive victories have revived Canterbury's hopes of making the play-offs and they will want to continue their push against next-to-bottom Doncaster at Polo Farm on Saturday.

With other results going in their favour, wins against Sutton Coldfield and Bowdon Hightown in their last two matches have propelled Canterbury to fourth in the table.

Ipswich are the current leaders after displacing Chelmsford with a last gasp 2-1 victory over the Essex side at the weekend.

On Saturday, Canterbury will again be without injured Tash Brennan while Susan Webber also misses out due to work commitments.

Anna Bennett returns and Jen Wilson and Frances Houslop are both expected to play, despite being away on international duty until Friday.

Ipswich are the current leaders after displacing Chelmsford with a last gasp 2-1 victory over the Essex side on Saturday, and Canterbury are now up to fourth.

Meanwhile, skipper Mel Clewlow admitted it was a weight off her shoulders to break Canterbury's hockey penalty jinx against Hightown at the weekend.

Clewlow and team-mate Webber had both missed important strokes in matches against Chelmsford this season, so when Wilson was fouled with the game still goalless, nerves were jangling.

Clewlow explained: "Susan was actually off the field at the time, so when the flick was awarded I naturally started walking forward.

"At 0-0, away from home, there was a bit of pressure and it didn't help that I was up against Carolyn Reid who knows where I like to put them, but on this occasion I went the other way and fortunately it went in."
