A2 Eastbound, between Canterbury and Faversham, partially blocked

Drivers are being warned to expect delays after a crash on the A2 this morning – with one lane closed on the road.

Traffic heading towards Canterbury before A2050 Harbledown from Brenley Corner, Faversham, is said to be queuing for up to two miles after the incident this morning – though the carriageway is only partially blocked.

Road monitoring website Inrix reports the accident involved a car and a motorbike.

A police spokesperson said: “Kent Police officers attended a report of a collision involving a motorbike and a car on the A2 coastbound near the junction with London Road, Upper Harbledown at 8.50am on October 3.

“The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment. One lane of the road is closed while the vehicles are recovered.”

It is not believed the motorcyclist's injuries are serious.
